Idli Manchurian

Idli is a very famous south Indian breakfast recipe. Some people would not like to eat idli as it is but they would prefer to have it when some spices are added to it. Today we are going to see Idli Manchurian which is one of the Indochinese appetizer. I am sure you will definitely like it. 
 
Good option for evening snacks.  
Idli Manchurian
  Ingredients: Serve - 2
  • Idli – 7
  • All purpose flour – 6tspn
  • Corn flour – 4tspn
  • Salt – 1 & ½tspn (adjust to taste)
  • Food color – a drop
  • Oil – as required for frying
  • Onion -  3 (big size)
  • Green chili – 8
  • Ginger – small piece
  • Garlic – 5 pieces
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1tspn
  • Soya sauce – 2tspn
  • Tomato sauce – 2tspn
  • Coriander leafs – as required
  • Water - as required

 Method:
  1. Take the idli's and cut it as small cubes. (figure 1)
  2.  Take a small bowl add 1tspn corn flour, little water & mix well without lumps. Keep it aside.(figure 2)
  3. Take a pan, heat oil for deep frying in a medium flame.
  4. Take a bowl add all purpose flour, 4tspn corn flour, 1/2tspn salt, food color, 1/2tspn ginger-garlic paste and make a thick paste by adding little water.(figure 3 & 4)
  5. Now in this paste dump the idly cubes & transfer into the oil. (figure 5)
  6. Fry the idli's for 2 minutes in medium flame and transfer into the plate.(figure 6 & 7)
  7. Take a pan, heat 2tspn oil in medium flame add onion, green chili, ginger-garlic pieces and saute for 5 minutes.(figure 8)
  8. Add 1tspn salt, 1/2tspn ginger garlic paste, soya sauce, tomato sauce and continue sauteing for 2 minutes.(figure 9)
  9. Now add the mixture which has been prepared in step 2 and continue sauteing for 1 minute.(figure 10)
  10. Add fried idli's and mix well.(figure 11)
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve in a bowl.(figure 12)
Tasty & Yummy Idli Manchurian is ready to serve !

Additional Tips:-
  • In this recipe idli's should be cool not hot. If the idly is hot then refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  • We can also add capsicum to this recipe for more tasty.
