Cabbage Fry

Cabbage is a leafy vegetable high in fiber and low in calories. It contains vitamin C, one of the best antioxidant, reduces free radicals in our body. cabbage is very helpful in treating ulcers, certain cancers, immune system boosting, cough and cold. Today let's see the healthy cabbage fry.
Cabbage Fry
Ingredients: Serve -2
  • Cabbage – ¼ kg
  • Green chilly – 3
  • Cumin seeds – ½tspn
  • Garlic pieces – 5
  • Coconut – small piece
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2tspn
  • Urad dhal – 1/2tspn
  • Curry leaves – as required
  • Oil – 3tspn
  • Salt – 1tspn (adjust to taste)

Method:
  1. Cut the cabbage as very thin pieces and boil in water for 10 minutes by adding 1/2tspn salt in a medium flame or else until cabbage become soft. (figure 1)
  2. Mean while, in a mixer add green chillies, coconut piece, garlic pieces, cumin seeds and make a soft powder. (figure 2 & 3)
  3. After cabbage is cooked cool down and remove water by pressing the cabbage with hand so that water will remove completely. (figure 4)
  4. Take pan, heat oil in medium flame add mustard seeds wait for crackle then add urad dhal, curry leaves and saute for 15 seconds.(figure 5)
  5. Add cabbage and saute for 5 minutes (figure 6)
  6. Add 1/2tspn salt, chilly powder which has been prepared in step 2 and saute for 3 minute. (figure 7)
  7. Serve in a bowl. (figure 8)
Healthy Cabbage Fry is ready to serve !

Additional Tips:-
  • In step3, remove the water completely from cabbage so that cabbage will saute well in step 5.

Taro Fry

Taro Fry is a very simple fry recipe. Let's see the making process.

Taro Fry
 Ingredients: Serve - 2
  • Taro – 1/4kg
  • Oil – 5tspn
  • Red chilli powder- 1 & ½tspn (adjust to taste)
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4tspn
  • Salt – 1tspn (adjust to taste)
  • Tamarind juice – 1tspn

 Method:
  1. Wash and boil the taro in a bowl for 15 minutes in a medium flame. (figure 1 & 2)
  2. After the taro is cool down, remove the skin and cut them as small pieces.
  3. Take a pan, add 3tspn oil, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, tamarind juice and mix well. (figure 3)
  4. Heat the pan in a medium flame by adding 2tspn oil. Fry the taro until its color changes to golden brown. (figure 4 & 5)
  5. Serve in a bowl. (figure 6)
Simple taro Fry is ready to serve !

Additional Tips:-

  • In step 4, fry the taro in medium flame and ensure they are not burned. If burned then all our hard work will go in vain. Recipe taste will get spoiled.

Ladies Finger Fry

Ladies Finger is a delicious vegetable high in both flavors and nutrients. It contains Vitamin A, C, antioxidants and dietary fiber. Eating Ladies finger benefits our body in more ways like improving immunity, prevents heart diseases, weight loss and etc. Today let's see the preparation of ladies finger fry.
Ladies Finger Fry
Ingredients: Serve-2
  • Ladies finger – ¼ kg
  • Oil – 4tspn
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2tspn
  • Urad dhal – 1/2tspn
  • Curry leaves – as required
  • Red chilli powder – 1 & 1/2tspn
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4tspn
  • Salt – 1tspn (adjust to taste)

Method:
  1. Wash and cut the ladies finger as small pieces.
  2. Take a pan, heat oil in medium flame add mustard seeds wait for crackle then add urad dhal, curry leafs and saute for 1 minute.(figure 1)
  3. Add ladies finger pieces and saute for 3 minutes (figure 2)
  4. Add salt , turmeric powder and continue sauteing for 2 more minutes (figure 3 & 4)
  5. Now sprinkle little water and close with lid. Cook for 5 minutes in medium flame. (figure 5)
  6. Open the lid, add red chilly powder and saute for 5 more minutes. (figure 6 & 7)
  7. Serve in a bowl. (figure 8)
Ladies Finger Fry is ready to Serve !

Additional Tips:-

  • In step 1, wash the ladies finger and remove wet with towel and then cut as slices.

Idli Manchurian

Idli is a very famous south Indian breakfast recipe. Some people would not like to eat idli as it is but they would prefer to have it when some spices are added to it. Today we are going to see Idli Manchurian which is one of the Indochinese appetizer. I am sure you will definitely like it. 
 
Good option for evening snacks.  
Idli Manchurian
  Ingredients: Serve - 2
  • Idli – 7
  • All purpose flour – 6tspn
  • Corn flour – 4tspn
  • Salt – 1 & ½tspn (adjust to taste)
  • Food color – a drop
  • Oil – as required for frying
  • Onion -  3 (big size)
  • Green chili – 8
  • Ginger – small piece
  • Garlic – 5 pieces
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1tspn
  • Soya sauce – 2tspn
  • Tomato sauce – 2tspn
  • Coriander leafs – as required
  • Water - as required

 Method:
  1. Take the idli's and cut it as small cubes. (figure 1)
  2.  Take a small bowl add 1tspn corn flour, little water & mix well without lumps. Keep it aside.(figure 2)
  3. Take a pan, heat oil for deep frying in a medium flame.
  4. Take a bowl add all purpose flour, 4tspn corn flour, 1/2tspn salt, food color, 1/2tspn ginger-garlic paste and make a thick paste by adding little water.(figure 3 & 4)
  5. Now in this paste dump the idly cubes & transfer into the oil. (figure 5)
  6. Fry the idli's for 2 minutes in medium flame and transfer into the plate.(figure 6 & 7)
  7. Take a pan, heat 2tspn oil in medium flame add onion, green chili, ginger-garlic pieces and saute for 5 minutes.(figure 8)
  8. Add 1tspn salt, 1/2tspn ginger garlic paste, soya sauce, tomato sauce and continue sauteing for 2 minutes.(figure 9)
  9. Now add the mixture which has been prepared in step 2 and continue sauteing for 1 minute.(figure 10)
  10. Add fried idli's and mix well.(figure 11)
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve in a bowl.(figure 12)
Tasty & Yummy Idli Manchurian is ready to serve !

Additional Tips:-
  • In this recipe idli's should be cool not hot. If the idly is hot then refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  • We can also add capsicum to this recipe for more tasty.

Mushroom Pepper Fry

Mushroom Pepper Fry is a very easy and quick fry recipe which can be served as a starters or as main course along with chapati.
Mushroom Pepper Fry
Ingredients: Serve - 2
  • Mushrooms – 7
  • Pepper powder – 1&1/2tspn
  • Salt – 1/2tspn(adjust to taste)
  • Oil – 2tspn
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2tspn
  • Urad dhal – 1/2tspn

 Method:
  1. Wash & cut the mushrooms as small pieces.
  2. Take a pan, heat oil in medium flame, add mustard seeds wait for crackle and then add urad dhal saute for 5 seconds. (figure 1 & 2)
  3. Add mushrooms and saute for 5 minutes. (figure 3)
  4. Add salt, pepper powder and continue sauteing for 3 more minutes. (figure 4 & 5)
  5. Serve in a plate.(figure 6)
Mushroom Pepper Fry is ready to serve !

Additional Tips:-
  • We can also add onion for more tasty.
